Lovely to see independents still on the High Street

Luckily I still look out for the independent business's, rather than the big chains - and why? Because they care. The OAKhouse in Maldon High Street is a great example of this, from the moment you walk in, you are welcomed by friendly staff, relaxing music and a smell of freshly roasted coffee that is to die for. I looked on their website whilst planning m,y trip to Maldon and discovered their coffee is from one of my favourite London roasteries - Monmouth and I wanted to see if it lived up to the standards of their London shops, and boy it did. I had a cafe brevo a mixture of espresso, steamed milk and steamed cream. This washed down my delicious homemade scone, which was to die for. This is why I support local trade as you can't beat a bit of good service with a cracking product
